« An internship with ICMSE is a great experience both from a human point of view and from a professional point of view. Thanks to the very rich partners network of ICMSE, we have had the opportunity to meet banks, microfinance institutions and other social enterprises, like Grameen Danone, as well as the clients of ASA in the villages, farmers of the dairy farm in Bogra or the very welcoming people of Merul Badda, the districit where we live in Dhaka... »

I was really excited to be commited to such a big project as GHEL. You don’t always get the chance to be given responsibilities when you are an intern involved in the launch of a big nationwide company. But we contributed to the birth of GHEL from A to Z, from finance to accounting. And more importantly, we had the opportunity to actually witness the results of our work. When you can see your social impact on the field, then it is really worth participating in Social Business.

"My internship at ICMSE will really remain an intense and vivid memory. I appreciated working in a complex and dynamic Bangladeshi environment, both in Dhaka, and directly with the dairy farm’s very kind staff in Bogra. To simultaneously work on various tasks, different growing projects and with interesting partners while leading a general study on the spreading of renewable energy in developing countries was really motivating. One precise subject got into me, which is exactly what GHEL is all about: How to use climate change challenges as leverage against poverty and social misery? I came to Bangladesh to concretely witness and participate to a Social Business with a strong field impact. I may have stumbled upon the difficulties one meets when switching from theory to practice. But it only reinforced my conviction that everyone has a capacity and a responsibility to act or at least to go on living with a consciousness of his/her individual impact and footprint on the planet. Bangladesh is a fantastic and surprising country that does not allow indifference.
